The winless Jets host their division rival Dolphins and will surely be out for revenge after being kept off the scoresheet in their first meeting.
The Jets kept it close last week against the Chargers without ever really looking like winning the game. Joe Flacco has been relatively successful in his last two starts for the Jets throwing 5 TD’s against only 2 INT’S but it’s looking likely Sam Darnold will return for this game and that shouldn’t breed confidence in Jets fans as Darnold hasn’t thrown a TD pass in his last three games and only has three TD passes all season, Flacco threw that many against the Patriots. Ultimately I’m not sure it matters who’s under centre for the Jets as their quest for Trevor Lawrence should seem them end 0-16.
The Dolphins who came into last week hot on the back of 5 wins in a row but realised a little too late that they’d been dragged into a dog fight by the home side Broncos and were ill equipped to handle. Vic Fangio wasn’t about to give Tua some of the easy defensive looks he’d seen so far this season and brought the pressure managing to Sack the rookie passer 6 times and had Tua rattled but Brian Flores’ decision to bench the Tua with the game on the line and bring in the veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick who then went and threw a game ending interception. The decision to pull the rookie seems short sighted at best and you have to wonder how being pulled with the game on the line will effect the young man, luckily he has the perfect bounce back game to put the farce in Denver behind him.
This Miami team are still playing for the division and the playoffs whilst the Jets seem happy to lose until they guarantee themselves the #1 overall pick. Miami’s defense overwhelmed the Jets offense in their first meeting and I have no reason to think they wont again here too. DeVante Parker is the main man for this Miami pass attack and even more so since the loss of Preston Williams.
