The Joe Burrow-less Bengals travel to Florida to take on the 7 win and playoff chasing Dolphins.
Miami bounced back from their loss to the Broncos with a win against the winless Jets last week as Ryan Fitzpatrick was back as the starter in Tua’s absence and played well throwing for over 250 yards and 2 TD’s and it’s looking more and more likely that Tua will once again sit due to a thumb injury so we’ll be treated to another Fitzmagic show. DeVante Parker was Fitz’s number one target last week with 8 receptions for 119 yards which was 5 receptions and more than 80 yards more than anyone else on the Dolphins offense. The Miami defense have been brilliant for most of the season, they gave up 3 points to the Jets last week which was 3 more than they gave up in their first meeting and in Xavien Howard have the man who leads the NFL in interceptions with 7 and up against a backup here I wouldn’t be surprised to see him add to that tally here.
The Bengals were unlucky to be on the losing side against the Giants last week losing 19-17 in a game they probably would’ve won had Joe Burrow been available. Brandon Allen wasn’t horrible deputising for Burrow but that’s probably the best you can say as he threw 1 TD, 1 INT and completed under 60% of his passes. The Bengals defense played pretty well against the Giants but were up against a backup themselves after Daniel Jones went down injured.
I don’t think I can take the Bengals to beat anyone with Brandon Allen at QB and especially not a Dolphins side who’re chasing a playoff berth and looking very good on defense. For my best bet I’m going to the Bengals defense and Cornerback Mackensie Alexander who’s Tackle & Assists line is set at U/O 5.5 and with only one game this season with more than 5 we’re going to take the under here.
PREDICTION: DOLPHINS 21 – 13 BENGALS
BEST BET: Mackensie Alexander UNDER 5.5 Tackles & Assists – 8/13 with SkyBet. 1 point bet.
