Two teams who couldn’t muster a TD last week meet in New Jersey as the winless Jets host the Playoff chasing Raiders.

I’m not quite sure what happened to the Raiders last week as they were blown out by the Falcons 43-6 in an upset loss but I am sure that Jon Gruden will not accept his offense turning the ball over 5 times, Derek Carr throwing one interception but the offense fumbling the football 4 times giving the Falcons good starting field positions multiple times, this was a far cry from the offense which had three 30+ point games in a row before this off kilter showing. The defense, despite giving up over 40 points didn’t play badly they were just put in horrible positions by their offense and this defeat lays at their feet something which I’m sure has had Gruden mad all week. The good news for the Raiders is they get a nice bounce back game against a Jets side which at this point I’m not sure want to win.

Sam Darnold had a torrid time against the Dolphins last week with yet another game without a TD pass, this was Darnold’s 4th straight game without finding the end zone and at this point the Jets best chance of winning a game would be with Joe Flacco at QB. The defense at least made some plays against Miami in sacking Ryan Fitzpatrick 4 times and forcing 2 fumbles and that has been their best chance of turning the ball over as this defensive unit hasn’t registered a INT since week 6…. It’s now week 13.

Winless team seemingly ‘Tanking for Trevor’ with a QB who hasn’t thrown a TD pass in his last 4 games against a Playoff contender looking to get back on track, this should be an easy road win but something’s feeling a little like a trap game here to me. The Jets are unbeaten at home against the Raiders in their last 6 meetings and you have to go back to 1996 for the last time the Raiders beat the Jets on the road and not to forget these teams and these head coaches played this fixture last season with the Jets blowing the Raiders out 34-3. There’s also the 0-16 thing, for as bad as the Jets are there’s only been two teams in NFL history who have gone 0-16 so it’s not exactly a regular occurrence and with this probably being the Jets only remaining winnable fixture you wonder if they’ll give this game their all to avoid having their name etched with the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns 0-16 squads, now I’m certainly not making a Jets win one a best bets but at best price 31/10 I’ll definitely be having a little action on a Jets upset even if I’m taking the Raiders in my prediction here.

As for my best bet I like the look of Denzel Mims U/O 4.5 Receptions line, he’s not had over 4 receptions in a game yet in his NFL career and with Sam Darnold throwing the ball as badly as he is I’m not sure where the confidence that’ll change here is coming from. For me this line should be 3.5 so we’ll take the value and hit the under.

BEST BET: Denzel Mims UNDER 4.5 receptions โ€“ 5/6 with SkyBet. 1 point bet.

GREAT VALUE: JETS to in outright –ย  31/10 with Bet365. 0.5 point bet
