After starting the season 5-1 the Chicago Bears have now lost 5 in a row and after giving up over 40 points on Sunday night to Aaron Rodgers and the Packers I’m starting to wonder if their much vaunted defense has finally cracked under the weight of carrying this team. The Bears rolled with Mitch Trubisky at QB on Sunday as Nick Foles wasn’t deemed fit enough to play and whilst his stat line wasn’t completely horrible it’s important to remember that two of his three TD passes in the game came in the 4th quarter which the Packers entered with a 41-10 lead. Chicago have been uninspiring on offense all season long regardless of who’s throwing the football but the defense being destroyed for three quarters is something new although as they were missing Akiem Hicks who’s the second most important piece to this defense after Khalil Mack I’m prepared to put it down as a one off if the Bears D can bounce back against an underwhelming Detroit attack.

The Lions finally parted ways with Matt Patricia and not only did they show their Head Coach the door but also their General Manager Bob Quinn, seemingly ending the Patriots Project they embarked on when hiring the two former New England staffers. Offensive Coordinator Darrell Bevell will take over as Interim HC until the end of the season and it’ll be interesting to see what if anything he can change. Bevell should at least have rookie D’Andre Swift back after he missed two games with concussion although it’s looking likely the Lions will once again be without number one receiver Kenny Golladay and will possibly be without last years number three overall draft pick Jeff Okudah at Cornerback.

Somewhat surprisingly the Lions have not lost more than two games in a row all season and are currently on a two game skid but Mitch Trubisky will be starting again for the Bears and there’s no team he relishes playing more than the Detroit Lions who he has a 4-2 career record against, winning his last 4 games against the Lions whilst throwing for 3 TD’s in each of those 4 games whilst only throwing 1 INT in that time.

I’m going to take the Bears here but only just edging out the Lions in a close game and if I’m honest I’d be taking the Lions if Nick Foles was starting for the Bears but Trubisky just seems to get hot against Detroit. As for my best bets I like Anthony Miller’s receptions line of 2.5, Miller has had 3 or more receptions in 7 of his last 8 games and had 4 in the Bears first meeting with the Lions this season. For a bit of value I also like Mitch Trubisky to throw exactly 3 TD passes, he’s thrown that many in each of his last 4 games vs Detroit and with SkyBet offering 5/1 I think that’s worth a taste.

BEST BET: Anthony Miller OVER 2.5 receptions – 4/7 with SkyBet. 1 point bet.

NEXT BEST: Mitch Trubisky to throw exactly 3 TD passes – 5/1 with SkyBet (RequestABet up to 5/1) 0.5 point bet.
