DALLAS COWBOYS @ BALTIMORE RAVENS

The 6-5 Ravens welcome America’s Team as the 3-8 Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas’ season was all but ended by the Washington Football Team on Thanksgiving as they were decimated 41-16 by their divisional foes and almost nothing has been going right for the Cowboys since Dak Prescott going down with only one win since then. The Cowboys real issue is on their defense, not team in the NFL has given up as many points as Dallas and no team is worse at defending the run which doesn’t bode well for them here as the Ravens possess a top 3 rushing offense.

Baltimore have now lost three games on the bounce after falling to the Steelers in their rescheduled duel and although Covid meant they were without many a starter in that game but they’ve been off kilter especially on offense the whole year and it’s been a far cry from the free scoring version of last season and I have to put some of the blame on Lamar Jackson who missed the game with the Steelers but has been far from the duel threat offensive weapon we saw last year, he seems a less willing and less explosive runner whilst his passing has been below average and the honest truth is that if last years NFL darlings and last years NFL MVP didn’t have one of the best defenses in the game their already slim playoff hopes might be none. With that being said it is important to remember they’re facing a backup QB and a defense who are completely inept at stopping the one thing the Ravens do to an elite level on offense and that’s run the ball.

Baltimore absolutely cannot afford to lose a 4th game on the bounce and fall to .500, the AFC is as competitive as it’s been for years and they have an 11 win team and a 9 win team sat above them in their own division. Luckily for them I think they’ll have too much for a beaten up and seemingly done Cowboys side who just cannot stop the run.

As for my best bets I like Lamar Jackson to put his team on his back in this must win game and against a defense which hasn’t proved they can stop the run at all this season I think his U/O set at 53.5 rushing yards, a number he’s bested in 4 of his last 5 games (he missed this total by 3 yards in the game he went under) is generous.

I also have a sneaky feeling the Ravens will try and get Dez Bryant involved in this game, he caught 4 of 5 targets in his first game and only game with Lamar Jackson throwing the football and with his long history as a Dallas Cowboy and then acrimonious split with the team I wouldn’t at all be surprised if he found himself in the endzone tonight and I for one would love to see him throw the X up once again.

PREDICTION: RAVENS 27 – 13 COWBOYS

BEST BET: Lamar Jackson OVER 53.5 rushing yards – 5/6 with SkyBet. 1 point bet.

NEXT BEST: Dez Bryant anytime TD – 7/2 with William Hill. 0.5 point bet.
