AFC North matchup with playoff implications as the division winning and AFC third seed, Steelers travel to Ohio to take on the Browns who know that if they win, they’re in.
Cleveland were beaten by the Jets last week in a game that would’ve clinched their playoff spot had they won, but COVID-19 had other ideas, wiping out their WR core and effectively stopping their passing attack which allowed the Jets to focus on taking away the running game and keeping the Browns to only 16 points. Cleveland should be at near full strength for this one though, and I expect them to get their running game going a little more than they did last week.
The Steelers snapped their 3 game skid in week 16 with a come from behind 28-24 win over the Colts, but they made hard work of it and found themselves in a 17 point hole in the third quarter. The Steelers have seemingly decided that a weeks rest is more important than battling for the second seed as they have already announced they will rest a lot of their starters including star defensive player, TJ Watt and QB, Ben Roethlisberger which means we’ll see backup, Mason Rudolph under Center against the Browns, and we all know what happened the last time that happened..
This is a must win game for a near full strength Browns side playing at home against a Steelers side playing majority backups, give me the Browns. For my best bet’s we’re heading over to the Cleveland offense who will have a point to prove after last week and against an underpowered Steelers defense I like Baker Mayfield to continue his five game trend throwing over 250 yards and we also like the returning Jarvis Landry to go over his 4.5 receptions line, a number he’s smashed in each of his last four games.
PREDICTION: BROWNS 21 – 20 STEELERS
BEST BET: Baker Mayfield OVER 247.5 passing yards – 5/6 with SkyBet. 0.5 point bet.
NEXT BEST: Jarvis Landry OVER 4.5 receptions – 5/6 with SkyBet. 0.5 point bet.
