LOS ANGELES CHARGERS @ KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

AFC West matchup as two 1-1 teams coming off of Week 2 losses meet at the home of the reigning back-to-back AFC champions. Will the Chiefs get back to winning ways or can the Chargers get the jump on their divisional rival?

The Chiefs were shocked by a beat-up Ravens side on SNF, somehow losing a game that they looked in control of for the majority. Kansas City are still offensive juggernauts, scoring 30+ points in both games this season, but on defense it’s another story. Chris Jones move from DT to DE is looking like a work in progress and is being abused in the run game. The secondary doesn’t have any special talent outside of Tyrann Mathieu. This Chiefs defense has given up 65 points in two games and now face a team who hung 38 on them in their last meeting.

The Chargers lost a close one to the Cowboys in Week 2 making it back to back close, low scoring games. The defense has yet to let up more than 20 points and whilst the offense has yet to score more than 20 they have looked impressive. Justin Herbert has had back to back 300+ passing yard games and his connection with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams has been fantastic. Williams has back to back games with 7 or more receptions, 80+ yards and a TD whilst Allen has back to back 100+ receiving yard games.

Mike Williams has particularly impressed through two weeks and is really balling out in a contract year and will be looking to continue that good form into a matchup with the Chiefs that he always seems to savour. In six previous games against the Chiefs in which Williams has played in 50% or more of the offensive snaps, the big-bodied receiver has 4 games with 70+ yards and although he only has two games in that span with 6 or more receptions he is being utilised a lot more in 2021 than he has been in previous seasons with back to back double-digit target games to start this year.

Spread: Chargers +6.5

Total Match Points line: U/O 54.0

Game Prediction: Chiefs 24-21 Chargers

Best Bet: Mike Williams over 5.5 receptions & 68.5 receiving yards @ 6/4 with Bet365 Bet Builder. [0.5]
