NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS @ LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

The well-rested Chargers come off their bye week and stay in LA as they welcome a Patriots side fresh off a 54 point outing in Week 7. Can the Chargers make the most of the extra rest and home-field advantage, or will the Patriots stay hot after their big win?

The Chargers took a bit of a beating at the hands of Baltimore in their Week 6 matchup, and that’s potentially worrying when you consider how similarly the Ravens and Patriots are built. Justin Herbert had been in potential MVP conversations before that game, and he’ll be keen to get himself back amongst that chatter with a strong performance here. Joey Bosa is still the danger man for the Chargers on defense. The talented pass-rusher has three or more combined tackles & assists in five of six games this season, and I expect him to be busy enough to challenge his U/O 2.5 Tackles & Assists line against an offense that likes to run the ball and dink and dime their way down the field.

New England beat the brakes off of the Jets last week, beating their divisional rivals 54-13. Mac Jones had his best game of the season in the blow-out win, but it’ll be interesting to see how he plays against a better defensive unit. One player who should continue his recent success is Damien Harris. The RB has back to back 100+ yard games on the ground and has three of them on the season already. He’ll be up against an underwhelming Chargers run defense in this matchup, and I expect he’ll again pick up yardage on the ground as the Chargers rank dead last in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game.

Spread: Patriots +4.5

Total: 49.5

Game Prediction: Chargers 27-26 Patriots

Best Bet: Damien Harris over 71.5 Rushing Yards and Joey Bosa over 2.5 Tackles & Assists @ 5/2 with Bet365 Bet Builder. [0.5]
