Two teams with a purple hue meet in Baltimore as the fresh off a bye Ravens host the fresh off a loss on primetime to a backup QB Vikings. Can Baltimore get the win to keep them atop the AFC North, or will Kirk Cousins have a bounce-back performance and pull the Vikes back to .500?
The Ravens headed into their bye week off the back of a humbling defeat at the hands of divisional rivals Cincinnati and will be looking to get back on track here. Lamar Jackson should look to attack a mediocre Vikings run defense with his legs, but with Hollywood Brown and Mark Andrews both impressing in multiple games already this year, it’s hard to pinpoint just how the Ravens will choose to attack.
Minnesota did their playoff hopes no favours in Week 8, as they lost on Primetime to a Dallas Cowboy team forced to start Cooper Rush at QB in Dak Prescott’s absence. Kirk Cousins played his worst game of the year against Dallas (He usually saves his worst for Primetime) but should improve against a Ravens defense that has allowed the most passing yards per game of any team in the NFL. A primary beneficiary of Baltimore’s questionable pass defense should be Adam Thielen. The veteran pass-catcher has been in fine form the last couple of games, producing a combined 17/204/2 stat line in his last two outings, and with at least five receptions in five of seven games this season, he’s stayed a consistent and reliable target for his QB.
